Why hair turns white in sun.......while skin turns black?

Sun has a bleaching effect on many things, as a result of the ultra violet radiation. Hair reacts that way. Skin, however, contain melanin, a pigment that darkens under exposure to UV rays as a form of protection. That is why cultures that live in high intensity sunlight (Africa, the tropics, equatorial nations) have naturally darker skin. However, too much melanin doesn't work, because your skin uses sunlight to create Vitamin D, so cultures with less sunlight have less melanin and therefore typically lighter skin.

Hair and Skin are two different things. Why you want the same reaction of sunlight?

I haven't heard of hair tuning white in sun. As for skin, it is dur to production of melanin.

i don no y ur hair becomes white..but the skin becomes dark coz.. wen the sun rays falls on r skin...the melanin(melanin is a dark pigment vch is present in r skin, hair,) starts its job..i.e...as the sun rays..the uv rays has melanin...the skin starts to get dark...the skin pigment is activated/....basically pple hu have more melanin pigment, they naturally luk dark....n on the other hand..the pple hu dont hav melanin..luk very whitey n fair...
