My hair is white. Should I dye it to appear younger on job interviews?

I am male and over 55. I have great tan and am very healthy looking.

Dear Mr. Fred,

I believe you should do whatever pleases you most and feels comftorable. If you feel CONFIDENT and feel fine the way you are then LEAVE IT!!

The people who are interviewing you are, afterall, not judging you based on your age and hair color!!

Sincerely,

Jasmine Haines

Yes...

i wouldn't worry about it. i think grey hair on a man is distinctive.

I would, nothing wrong with looking a little younger. Appearances at job interviews are crucial. If you have a good resume but look sloppy the person interviewing may second guess you. Even if the resume is more important, human behavior shows that people do have a harder time looking past apperances then anything else. It's not really that shallow, it's just normal.

Depends on the kind of job. If you are in the entertainment or fashion business, do dye it, but have it done by a pro who has a sense of style. If the job is a traditional one like lawyer, banking etc, then have a talk with a stylist because you need to look distinguished and some people think that white hair speaks volumes of experience. A very good haircut would help. Computer businesses really don't care very much about your looks as long as your work is good. Try to visit places where you would like to work and check the guys out, that should give you an idea of what you need to do.

No. There is something to be said for anyone who can age gracefully. Keep your hair white. You won't be fooling anyone by dyeing your hair. And if you do, it won't be a secret for long.

Your over 55 and look great.. You don't need to dye your hair, just wear it natural. Appearing younger is not going to get you the job.

A better question might be would you want to work for someone who is so shallow that they would discriminate against you for having white hair or for your age?
