White balls at the end of hair, split ends and breaking...?

I have these white balls on the lower part of my hair when you pull at them the hair breaks with ease. i dont know what they are, are they split ends? should i get a hair cut. they arent on the top, only on the bottom. my hair has been getting shorter it seems, i think it might be because of these white ball looking things...does anyone have this problem if so any advice!!!!!

The white balls are just a symbol of your dead ends. You definitely need a haircut. Every 6 weeks or so, you should get a trim - especially if you have bangs/layers. Split ends can prevent hair from growing as quickly as it could if it were healthy.

A haircut is definitely the way to go. In the meantime, use a product such as Selson Blue, or another product to help damaged hair.

Totally get a hair cut. Just ask your hair dresser to cut all the way past the split ends. And try to stay away from hair dryers, flat irons, hot rollers, chlorine, etc. because these are all the things that cause your hair to split like that.

Last year I used to straighten my hair almost every day (my hair is naturally curly) and I noticed that too. It's basically a really bad case of split ends. You should trim your hair and let it grow out while avoiding heat-damaging products.

u have split ends. you could spend hours combing them out w/ conditioner or just get a haircut. also try an anti-breakage shampoo

These things you call "white balls" are probably just damaged parts of the hair shaft, they appear white much like split ends. It sounds like your hair is definately damaged, especially since you said it "seems" to be getting shorter which means it's breaking off. You may want to get quite a bit of length off and use some conditioning treatments frequently.

Definitely split ends. Do you heat style your hair? If so, that is why, its damaged. Get a good haircut, deep condition, and take care of your hair from then on. No more flat irons and very little blowdrying!!

it could be from hair dye, not using enough conditioner, too much heat from the dryer or straightener.

Just be sure to use a reparing conditioner (talk to your stylist). And you will need to get a little trim.

that is definitely split ends..u need to get ur hair cut..split ends arent healthy and they make ur hair look damp..if u cut it it will look healthy and silkier and thicker and ful..everytime u see a split end just take a scissor and cut it.if u see another one that means u need to get ur hair trimmed..
