Is it okay to use hair dye designed for women of color if you are white with fine hair?
My understanding is that dye is dye. The people who manufacture dyes are not really targeting a certain racial background. Go to Target or some other big store and check out similar colors in the "non-ethnic (white)" area and compare it to the "ethnic (black, hispanic, etc.)" section. There probably isn't a big difference in ingredients. The big difference will most likely be the model on the box.

You really shouldn't. Those colors are stronger, typically, and have a product in it (ammonia, I believe?) to lift the hairs color and deposit all in one step. It's fairly damaging.

I agree with the whole they have better colors. I would say its fine only because my sistha is african american and i use her hair stuff on my hair all the time and it hasnt done anything to my hair but then again its not dye. If its wash out then i would say its fine but if its permanant I would say test it first befor you do or ask an expert unlike myself

I'm not sure what you mean by women of color, but if it is your 1st time coloring your hair, go to a salon and get it professionally done. It should cost no more than $30. That way you don't end up damaging your hair or burning your scalp. Good Luck

Go to a Beauty Supply store, they have a huge variety of colors, and you can ask the people who work there for help if necessary.
